I considered calling this shot tortured brushes.  Because as much as I love my paint brushes, I beat the crap out of them.

I had an art teacher in Senior High (Nancy Malmstrom) who always used to yell at us for leaving brushes in the water over night.  She said we gave them headaches.  My brushes must get migraines.  Sometimes they don’t even get fresh water and have to stand on their heads in week old greenish-gray water.

Needless to say, my brushes are of the pretty cheap variety.

I’ve been waiting for a good snowfall to get a photo of the christmas lights in the front yard bushes.  Today was a good day for snowfall.

First significant snow fall of the season.  Jack is excited.  I’m waiting for him to get home before I start shoveling.

I think I may have mentioned before the family decision to have a weekly soup and grilled cheese sandwich night this winter.  This week was Jack’s week to pick the soup.  He wanted chicken with spiral noodles.

The extra bonus of this 365 days of photos project  is that I’ve been updating the blog regularly now.  If only somebody would read the blog…

Today is Jack’s birthday party at the Burpee Museum.  I decorated a cake this morning for him.  He saw the Giant Cupcake cake pan on TV the other day and went nuts, so I picked one up for him and made him a giant cupcake b-day cake.  Unfortunately it doesn’t fit very well in to the cake carrier and is at this moment quite smooshed.

Not a very good photo I’m afraid.  I’ve been trying to get a shot of the birds that hang out in the bushes by our front window.  But they all fly away when I come out with the camera and don’t  come back.  So I tried to take this from the couch.  Didn’t turn out so well, but I’ve got nothing else for that day.  I forgot to take the camera everywhere else we went.

Today is Jack’s 7th birthday.  His choice for dinner?  Pizza.  That’s my baby.

The errands are all done for today.  I’m not too big on the whole Christmas thing.  In fact I recently convinced my family to leave the country for the week of Christmas.  Last year was Costa Rica, this year is Cancun, next year Chile?  But I love Christmas cards.  They’re like tiny works of art.  I usually buy the  Unicef Christmas cards because they are so very non-religious.  But I like all kinds of cards.  Probably my favorite part of Christmas.

Just a photo painting today.  I imagine as the weather gets colder, this project will get harder to do.  Go less, see less, do less.  But then when it warms up in the Spring it will be easy again.  I’ll just have to make it through the winter.  Like always.

It’s the first day of December.  That means Jack gets to open door number one on the advent calender.  I love advent calendars.  We had an awesome one when I was a kid.  No candy, just neat pictures behind little doors.
